The River exists to be a place where young adults experience the living God, are discipled into maturity and are sent out to reach the world for Christ. We seek to light a fire in the hearts of our generation. We seek to do this by focusing on three things:
- passionate worship
- meaningful worship
- relevant teaching

Friday nights for most young adults are spent with friends at movies, parties or perhaps even bars-- not at worship. However, there is a place that takes Friday nights very seriously and will make it worth the while. That place is The River. Friday nights at 8 p.m. you will find around 300, 18-30 year olds praising God.
The mission statement for The River is: We exist to be a place where young adults experience the living God. We are a place where young adults are discipled into maturity and sent out to reach the world for Christ. We seek to light a fire in the hearts of our generation.
"You walk in the door at Church at the Gate and the lights are off," said Matt Larson, a youth pastor with Church at the Gate. "Four to six excited young adults greet you. Tons of candles are lit. We fill the place with people. We do a count down before the service starts and then the band begins to play."
